1. LUST is run by students at the University of Leicester, deep in the heart of the midlands. LUST makes television for students, by students.

2. As we make television for students, the rule is Students First, Television Second.

Cheesy but true, YOUR input is OUR output. LUST is what its members make it, so get involved!

A bit of history…

Established in the 1980′s LUST, has seen a phenomenal growth over the last 6 years, since it restarted in 2003, as the sole source of student television for the University of Leicester Students Union. We broadcast on the Queens Hall Foyer Plasma screen during term time and all year round online.

2006 saw LUST earn the right to call itself award winning, as at the annual National Student Television Association awards (held jointly by Leeds and York) LUST walked away with the NaSTA award for Best Light Entertainment Programme for Ferrit-Vision.

2007 saw growth in LUST with the purchase of new equipment allowing more ambitious projects and a higher turn-around of content. Programmes such as Shag TV reaching its peak along with the regular filming of RAG events and sports. LUST also attended the Edinburgh International Television Festival.

In March 2008, LUST proudly hosted the NaSTA conference and awards, right here in Leicester! The event itself was a huge success seeing 250 students from over 20 television stations come to Leicester to enjoy the AGM, Golden Bodge event and of course the awards meal, held in Charles Wilson, and the awards itself held in the Queens Hall complete with cinema scale silver screen projection in place.  LUST also managed to get Highly Commended for Factual and Best Broadcaster Categories in addition to winning Best Promo.

2009 saw an increase in student involvement and the creation of a bigger exec team. NaSTA 09 was held in Southampton and LUST managed to get Highly Commended for Best Light Entertainment. In October this brand new website was launched…
